IWUF announced 2014 International Wushu Judges Examination Courses Programmes

According to the working calendar of the IWUF Technical Committee, the IWUF will organize three International Wushu Judges Examination Courses in the year of 2014. In the light of convenient, close by and economic, the IWUF member federations shall inform their members to prepare for the course according to the regulations. The details are as follows:

 

1. Dates and Place

1.1 First Course

Dates: June 1 to 7, 2014

Place: Catania, Italy

 

1.2 Second Course

Dates: August 25 to 31, 2014

Place: Shanghai, China

 

1.3 Third Course (Taijiquan Course)

Dates: October 24 to 30, 2014

Place: Chengdu, China

 

2. Eligibility of Participants

2.1 The new candidates should:

--- Be citizens of the countries/regions of the IWUF member federations;

--- Have judging experience at national/ regional level or other important competitions;

--- Be born after January 1 1964 and be in good health;

--- Be recommended by their national federations affiliated to IWUF. Each federation can enter a maximum of 3 Taolu, 3 Sanda and 2 Taijiquan candidates to participate in the course.

2.2 The existing international judges for renewing their certificates should:

--- Be international judge certificate holders

--- The judges who were born between January 1 1959 and January 1 1964 should participate in the courses, but they are exempted from the examination.

 

3. Entry and Registration

3.1 The IWUF member federations should send the entry forms and hotel reservation forms to the Secretariat (together with three (3) passport size photos for each person) prior to April 30 for Italian Course, July 20 for Shanghai Course and September 20 for Chengdu Taijiquan Course. One applicant can participate in only one course.

3.2 Registration: The place of registration will be informed in due course.

 

4. Grading Criteria and Certificate

4.1 The new candidates

4.1.1 Those who pass the examinations will receive the Grade "B" certificates for Taolu judges and Grade "B" certificates for Sanda judges. The Taijiquan judges will receive certificates. The International Judge Certificates of Grading and Badges will be conferred to them.

4.1.2 Those who fail in the examinations can not receive the Certificates of Grading. Only the Certificates of Participation will be conferred to them.

4.2 Existing international judge certificate holders

Grades will be determined based on the "Detailed Regulations of Examination" (attached). New International Judge Certificates and Badges will be conferred if they pass the examinations.

 

5. Financial Conditions

5.1 Course in Italy

5.1.1 US$ 50 per person per kit of Grading Certificate and Badge

5.1.2 EUR€ 90 per person per day (double room)

5.1.3 EUR€ 110 per person per day (single room)

5.1.4 EUR€ 70 per person per day (double room) for accompanying person

 

5.2 Judge Examination Courses in China Shanghai and Chengdu

5.2.1 US$ 50 per person per kit of Grading Certificate and Badge

5.2.2 US$ 100 per person per day (double room)

5.2.3 US$ 120 per person per day (single room)

5.2.4 US$ 80 per person per day (double room) for accompanying person

 

The above-mentioned prices cover accommodation, meals, training, examination, venues, equipment and teaching materials.

 

6. Other Matters

The participants should read this notice and the attachment carefully and observe the requirements and rules. The IWUF has the authority to reject those who do not abide by the requirements and rules participating in the examination. The concerned IWUF member federations and the participants shall bear all the consequences and expenses relating to this.

 

7. Hotel and Training Venue

All participants will be accommodated by the host federations. Please send your hotel reservation forms to the IWUF Secretariat on time.


Detailed Regulations of 2014 International Wushu Judges Examination Courses

 

1.The classification of judges:

The technical level of international wushu judges are:

Taolu: International Grade "B", International Grade "A" and Taijiquan Specific Event

Sanda: International Grade "B", International Grade "A"

 

1.1 The new candidates

The judges who pass the examination will be graded as Grade "B" (Taolu), Taijiquan Specific Event and Grade "B" (Sanda);

1.2 The existing international judges

- The Taolu judges who are international judge certificate holders for 4 years can apply for upgrading their grades (from C or B to A, Taijiquan Specific Event).

- The Sanda judges who are international judge certificate holders for 4 years can apply for upgrading their grades (from B to A).

1.3 Certificate renewal

The Taolu and Sanda judges who are international judge certificate holders for 4 years shall renew their certificate to maintain their grades.

1.4 Those who got certificates in 2010 shall take part in the examinations for certificate renewal.

1.5 Each Grade A judge can participate in cross-discipline examination, e.g. Taolu judge takes part in Sanda examination, while Sanda judge takes part in Taolu examination.

1.6 Taijiquan Specific Event

- Existing international judges who are skilled in Taijiquan can apply for Taijiquan Specific Event

- Those athletes who were top 3 place winners of Taijiquan and Taijijian of World Wushu Championships before 2013, now retired and under 50 years can apply for the Taijiquan Specific Event.  

 

2. Contents of the Examination

2.1 Taolu (new candidates and those for upgrading)

International Competition Routines (the 3rd Set): Changquan, Jianshu, Daoshu, Qiangshu, Gunshu, Nanquan, Nandao, Nangun, Taijiquan and Taijijian (Please log on the website of the IWUF at: www.iwuf.org and learn from the video by yourself).

2.1.1 Theory: Taolu competition rules (2005)

2.1.2 Techniques: Candidates must choose and perform 1 of bare-handed routines of the 3rd Set of International Competition Routine plus 1 apparatus routine

2.1.3 Practical examination: Analyzing and judging on either live or video performances

2.2 Re-exam at the same grade (Taolu)

2.2.1 Techniques: Candidates must choose and perform 1 of the 3 bare-handed routines e.g. Changquan, Taijiquan and Nanquan plus 1 apparatus routine

2.2.2 Practical examination: Analyzing and judging on either live or video performances

2.3 Sanda (new candidates and those for upgrading)

2.3.1 Grade "B"

- Theory: Rules and judging law of Sanda competition.

- Techniques: Perform one bare-handed routine and basic skills plus fight in action

- Practical examination: Judging on either live or video sparring performances

2.3.2 Grade "A"

- Theory: Basic wushu theory, rules and judging law of Sanda competition

- Techniques: Perform one bare-handed routine and basic skills plus fight in action

- Practical examination: Judging either live or video sparring performances

2.4 Re-exam at the same grade (Sanda)

- Sanda competition rules and judging law of Sanda competition

- Practical examination: Analyzing and judging on either live or video performances

2.5 Taijiquan Specific Event

2.5.1 Skills: 60%: Newly created Yang Style Taijiquan and Taijijian; Chen Style Taijiquan and Taijijian; Choose one of the barehanded routine and one of the apparatus (Please log on the website of the IWUF at: www.iwuf.org and learn from the video by yourself. The teacher will give guidance in training before examination).

2.5.2 Theory: 30%: International Wushu Taijiquan Competition Rules (trial version)

2.5.3 Evaluation: 30%: Judging on either live or video Taijiquan performances 

The full mark is 120. The examination will adopt the method of passing the exam step by step. If one judge fails in the technical examination, he/she is not allowed to participate in the following examinations.
