India Wushu Association is working very hard to develop the sport in country. They are investing a lot with aim of increasing their medals in next Asian games.
President Wushu Association of India has been unanimously elected as Executive Member of Indian Olympic Association on 5th December 2012. It is the first time in the history of Indian Wushu that Wushu got birth in India Olympic Committee.
Recently Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) and Sports Authority of India (SAI) finalized the categorization of sports on the performance of Olympic Games /Asian Games.
10 Sports reserved birth in the priority list on the basis of 2012 Olympic Games at London While as 3 Sports, Wushu, Rowing and Kabbaddi retained its place in the priority category on the Basis of 16th Asian Games at Guangzhou (China).
Mr. Bhupender Singh Bajwa have mentioned in his direct message to President of West Asia Wushu Federation Dr. Mahdi Alinejad that:
“It is a great New Year Gift from the Ministry of Youth Affairs (MYAS) and Sports and Sports Authority of India (SAI) Govt. Of India to the Wushu lovers of the country and Wushu Association of India, who worked hard day and night for this day.”
India has very good performance in last World Junior Wushu Championships in Macau too.
All above shows India is investing a lot in Wushu and very soon we will hear more from this country in world Wushu.
